Philosophy & Guiding Principles

We are a non-religious, nature focused, play-based learning center with the understanding and education of child development, the importance of early relationships, and understanding for a child’s need to move and explore in the natural environment around them. As caregivers and educators, we strive to create a learning environment that is safe, stimulating and encouraging. Our high-quality program considers age appropriateness, individual interests, needs, relationships and cultural awareness for all children and families in our center. Our passion and focus are on supporting families and their children – this is done with high quality, educated and trained teaching staff that are supported by the Director and Assistant Director.

As caregivers and educators, we strive to create learning environments and experiences that are safe, stimulating and encouraging. We follow the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards 2017 to serve as a basis for our curriculum, planning and goal setting.

We believe that punishment is not a helpful tool in teaching children self-regulation. Rather, we see consequences, teaching self-regulation tools/strategies, and giving children space to safely deal with their feelings is a more appropriate focus. This guiding principle is better known and positive guidance.

We are a discrimination free facility. Repeated discrimination against anyone within the center can result in immediate termination/disenrollment. We proudly comply with the Title III of the ADA. Each classroom strives to include the individual cultures represented by our families and those in our communities.
