OPENING/CLOSING PROCEDURES & STAFFING

Making sure that not only children are kept safe but staff are kept safe is one of Yahara River Learning Center’s priorities. To ensure the safety of children and staff, we have a delegation of administration. The authority starts with Owner/Director Macy Buhler. Followed by Assistant Director Katie Davy. Lead teachers, lead floats, assistant teachers, and finally floats. One vehicle will be onsite at all times open for any emergency situations.

Delegation of Administrative Authority
6:45am - 3:45pm

  • Assistant Director - Katie Davy

  • Lead Teacher - Cody Maier

  • Lead Teacher - Katie Grove

3:45pm - 5:30pm

  • Director - Macy Buhler

  • Lead Teacher - Sydney Rotondo

  • Lead Teacher - Emma Laurent

Two staff members are on hand when opening the program 6:45am - 7:00am and again when closing the program 5:00pm - 5:30pm. If a second staff member is not available, the Director is on-call. Children may open in a different classroom before transitioning into their rooms for the day. The same may be the case at the end of the night; children may transition out of their classroom into another for the remainder of their care for the day.

ACCESS POLICY & DOOR CODES

Any person in the center who is not an owner, staff member, substitute, or subcontracted staff or volunteer who has had a record check and approval to be involved with child care shall not have unrestricted access to children for whom that person is not the parent/guardian. Unrestricted access means that a person has contact with a child alone or is directly responsible for child care.

Person(s) who do(es) not have unrestricted access will be under the direct supervision and monitoring of a paid staff member at all times and will not be allowed to assume any child care responsibilities. The primary responsibility of the supervision and monitoring will be assumed by the Lead Teacher unless they delegate it to a Full Time Assistant Teacher due to a conflict of interest with the person.

Families will receive a door code at time of enrollment. This code is not to be shared with any persons or removal from program may occur.
